Midilli adasında 15-18 Haziran’da düzenlenecek 2. Türk-Yunan Ticaret ve Kültür Festivali görüşmeleri için organizasyon komitesi başkanı Markellos Petropoulos ile üyesi Aris Lazaris İzmir’e geldi.

Ege Birlik firmasını ziyaret eden Lazaris, 14 Nisan’da Sakız adasına yapılacak 400 kişini katılacağı İzmir Ticaret Odası gezisinin iptal edilmesi durumunu öğrendi. Bunun üzerine Ankara’yı, Yunanistan’ın Türkiye Büyükelçisi Fotios Zidas’ı aradıklarını belirten Lazaris, “Ardından Kuzey Yunanistan Adaları Bölge Valisi Nassos Giakalis’i bilgilendirdik. Sorunun bir an önce çözülmesini istiyoruz” dedi.

Many thanks your above mentioned letter, which we read with interest.



First of all, we would like to thank you for taking your time in replying to us, which (must admit) a rare thing for the past 6 (six) months we started

To raise the issue in such tenure.



Our position is that we are asking "How is the weather!" and the reply of

ParisMOU secretariat that you explain in the last para of your letter is

"we are fine, thanks and how are you !!"



Yes, all of our letters follows detention of a Turkish controlled ship

in a ParisMOU member state, but the focal point is not, if that

"particular" Turkish controlled ship gets detained on the right

grounds or not. No one can judge discrimination this way. You need to

have other examples to compare with, in order to see if there is

discrimination or not. Thus, following each detention of Turkish

controlled tonnage, we give examples from EU controlled tonnage

getting inspected (or not..) in similar/close settings . . there

is a good chance to compare with . . SUCH AS ,



THE ONES BELOW

2345-gt Malta-flagged (but Turkish controlled) cargo M/V Reina 1 (IMO: 8802478) collided with 10870-gt Turk flagged ferry M/V Ankara in the Adriatic Sea on Oct 20. Vessel Reina 1 sunk immediately and at least three sailors were killed. Five sailors are still missing. No casualties on board vessel Ankara. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.



Ankara is on time-charter and working on Durres/Bari daily ferry route together with her sister vessel from the same Turkish shipowning interests.



Ankara (following SAR operation) continues her voyage and arrives her destination (BARI)Where she got detained by Italian Port State (ParisMOU) Authorities. We do not know yet,on what grounds she got detained, since it is not made public yet, but we, under any circumstances, donot intend/wish to argue if she is detained on the right grounds or not.



However, we would like to remind you that ANKARA passed 2 port state control inspections without being detained, both in BARI-ITALY during the past 3 months (11 July & 08 September 2011 tobe exact).





OKAY, NOW LETS SEE HOW THE DETENTION OF THAT TURKISH FLAG

FERRY COMPARES WITH :



CONDOR VITESSE; 5000 gross (350dwt) 1997 built Bahamas (UK Mirror) flag, Den Norske Veritas class, HSV (high speed ferryboat) under UK Management working

Channel Islands & St.Malo-France route.



On 28 March 2011, CONDOR VITESSE, under thick fog sailing at 37knots (and not

Reducing her speed due to adverse weather) and (against the rules of COLREG) not sounding fog-signals (because master claims it is distracting the attention of deck officers at watch !! and engine-noise of the HSV should be good enuff..) hit a french fishingboat kiling her french master immediately and while 2 fishermen survives on the still flooting aft part of the boat that got broken into 2.

She was detained in the port of CASTELLON/Spain, on 21-26 September 2011 With 6 deficiencies, ALL 6 DEFICIENCIES ARE FOUND AS GROUNDS FOR HER DETENTION , among which we find

HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE !!!! . . A SHIP MISSING DOC PASSING A PSC WITHOUT BEING DETAINED IS UNHEARD IN THE HISTORY OF SHIPPING !!!



During the past weeks, its all over Danish media that Statoil is calling Maersk Supply to

An emergency safety meeting, because the intern letters of Maersk Supply is circulating

in the media, accusing management for not furbishing the 70 strong supply fleet with

necessary supplies and ships are manned with incompetent crew etc etc, and there are

serious accidents on board, people are dying etc etc, and because of the EVEN THE FLAG STATE, ISLE OF MAN, AT A TIME (which probably same time as “Maersk Advancer” got

inspected at Las Palmas-Spain, when DOC was missing....) WAS THREATENING TO (maybe even did !!) WITHDRAW THE MAERSK SUPPLY AS”S DOC !!!

In anycase, Maersk Supply A/S got a MAJOR NON-CONFORMITY with an EXTERNAL ISM AUDIT by ISLE OF MAN REGISTRY . .
